WELCOME TO THE MOUNT DESERT ISLAND YMCA

Welcome to the MDI YMCA! The current MDI YMCA building was built in 1999 and features 45,000 square feet of space. The communities around the island worked hard to help raise funds for the new building when the old building, on the corner of School Street and Mount Desert Street, suffered a collapsed roof.

LENNY DEMURO POOL

The Lenny DeMuro Pool is a six-lane, 25-yard pool. It's home to the Mount Desert Island Shark Swim Team, the MDI High Trojan's Swim Team, and YMCA Swim Lessons.

Pool Schedules are subject to change. Lap lanes are available throughout the day as well as Family and Community swim times. Children under 14 must be swim tested by a lifeguard their first visit to the pool as some areas of the pool are off-limits to inexperienced swimmers. Check our schedule for swim times and our Swim Lessons page for more information regarding the swim test.
