The MDI YMCA has a long and proud history of offering space and opportunity for recreactional sports in our community.

We currently have Youth Pickup Volleyball- youth and teens meet after school a few days a week during the school year.
Open Pickleball- we have two lined courts in our wood floored gymnasium where on rainy and cold days members and guests alike come to play and talk all things pickleball.
Badminton- we have two courts on our wood floored gym where a passionate group of badminton enthusiasts meets weekly to play.
Pick-up Basketball- with both half and full-court game options there is often pickup basketball going on in the evenings at the Y.
Pick-up Basketball 40+ - for those looking for non-contact basketball, this groups tends to meet several days a week at the Y during fall, winter, and spring when it is too cold and dark to play outside.
Water Polo- there is a regular group during the school year who play 1-2 evenings a week in the deep end of our pool.
Indoor Soccer- the town ballfields host a robust group of soccer players and when it gets cold and dark, they head to the Y for a whole gym game each week.

If you are intersted in forming a group/club for a recreational sport at our YMCA, please reachout membership@mdiymca.org.
We have some great examples of clubs that are organically formed. Our Aidido and Water Polo groups have organically formed. Once a group forms we post the days, times the group meets. A condition of a group/club at our YMCA and what makes it different than a private rental is making the activity open to all members/guests.
