8TH ANNUAL ACADIA
HALF MARATHON AND 10K
2020 Race Canceled!
General Information - COVID-19
As we're sure many of you expected, the time has unfortunately come for us to cancel the 8th Annual Acadia Half Marathon and 10k, scheduled for June 7. When this situation first presented itself, we remained optimistic. While there is a chance we could start coming out of quarantine by Race Day, we acknowledge that there will likely be continued restrictions around mass gatherings. On top of that, we want to act responsibly so that when the curve has been flattened, we do not cause it to spike once again.
For those who already registered, your registration will automatically be deferred to next year's race, June 2021.
We are also offering 3 other options:
1. We are offering the option of transferring your registration to our Fall half marathon, the 43rd Annual Bar Harbor Bank and Trust Half Marathon and 5k on September 19, 2020. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org if you would prefer this option. Space is limited, as this course also travels into Acadia National Park. This option is available only until we reach our participant cap.
More information on this race can be found at https://www.mdiymca.org/fall-half-marathon-and-5k
2. You can offer your registration fee as a donation to the Mount Desert Island YMCA. This will assist us in our mission and fundraising goals for the year. Just send an email to email@example.com. And...Thank you!
3. Lastly, if you would like a refund, we can offer this option as a last resort. Please be reminded that this is a major fundraiser for our small community YMCA. We are not a for-profit racing company. We rely on this event to keep our organization functioning and provide financial assistance and scholarships to those in our community who would otherwise not be able to participate in the basic healthy-living programs we offer. If this is the only option that works, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
As we navigate through these difficult times, remember to keep exercising for a healthy mind and body.
We hope to see you all again soon on the starting line in Bar Harbor, Maine!
