Are there adequate bathroom facilities?

Yes!  And they are real bathrooms – not porta-potties! We have bathrooms available at the start & finish of the race and 2 bathrooms on the course itself (see map on main race page).

Can we walk the race?

Yes. We ask that walkers start at 6:00am

Please note, ALL 5K participants start at the same time: 7:45am whether you are walking or running. The finish line closes at 10:30am

Do I get a shirt?

Every pre-registered half marathon runner and walker is guaranteed a t-shirt. The first 50 to register for the 5K will be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Are there enough water and sports drinks on the course?

We have 6 water stations with sports drink included at miles 5 and 10.

Do I get an award, even if I come in last?

Yes!  Every half marathon & 5k finisher receives a medal.

What are my lodging options?

For lodging options contact the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Their website has a list of campgrounds, motels, and hotels.  Many people who participate in this race lengthen their stays in order to further explore Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.

Refunds?  Due to a limited amount of spaces in the race, and the fact that this is an important fundraiser for the YMCA, race fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Is this race capped?

Yes. Due to Acadia National Park permit restrictions, only 400 runners may participate. This means lots of elbow room along the course. Registration Fee for race includes the cost of an Acadia National Park Pass. This will be included in your race packet. Park passes are Individual passes and are good for one week.

FOR SAFETY: No strollers. No dogs. No earbuds or headphones.
