AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
LEARN. GROW. THRIVE.
With a focus on safety, health, social growth and academic enhancement, our after school program serve children with options to explore and develop their interests and talents. The Y provides a quality, safe place for children to go so that parents have the freedom to work or study, knowing that their children's needs are being addressed. Our flexible schedule allows each child to freely choose what he or she wants to do during this out-of-school time.
You can feel confident knowing that your child is safe and well cared for by highly qualified, CPR and First Aid-certified, staff. In addition, our staff also attend various trainings every year concerned with: Child Development, Child Abuse Prevention and Programming, and much more. The trainings fall in line with YMCA Best Practices and State of Maine regulations.

For No School Days (Professional or Vacation) and Early Release Days, the MDI YMCA offers its ASP participants discounted rates. It's our way of making sure you aren't left without child care for days kids don't need to be in school, but you've still got to be at work. Set your mind at ease.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The After School Program at the Mount Desert Island YMCA covers Kindergarten - 6th Grade. See below for information regarding membership and program scholarships in Membership For All.
COST OF ASP: $90/WEEK Y Members; $100/WEEK Non-Members
Payments are accepted by weekly auto-drafts ONLY. We accept Visa or MasterCard as well as checking/savings accounts. Auto-draft will occur whether your child is in attendance or not. An advanced two-week cancellation notice is needed in writing in order to cancel a particular week or weeks of ASP. For emergency cancellations contact Child Care Director Taylor Walls at childcare@mdiymca.org.
A fee will be drafted for each bounced payment.
Due to COVID-19 we are unable to take as many children as we have in the past. Please reach out to Taylor Walls to see about registering your child for ASP.

MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL
Because our community is strongest when we all participate together, financial assistance is available for membership and programs. When you apply for Membership For All, rates are set by a sliding fee scale, based on income. Assistance is made possible by generous donations to the Y's Annual Giving Campaign.
